I'm spinning in memory of Max
On Saturday, March 9th, I'll be spinning for three hours in memory of Max.
Max came to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm as a very sick cat. He had horrible teeth, a giant growth on his tail, was underweight, smelled bad and was quite ill on a daily basis. After diagnostics at Angell Animal Medical Center, Max was diagnosed with lymphoma and our staff started to look for a hospice adopter for him. When they told me how absolutely wonderful he was and how much they adored him, I decided to be the one to get to bring him home!
Even though we knew Max didn't have years and years of life ahead, our staff still tended to his terrible mouth (he got a nearly full mouth of extractions) and later amputated his tail when his benign tumor grew too large and became problematic. Max stabilized on long-term meds and enjoyed a year and a half of really good health at the Pesek Residence before he passed away just after Christmas.
Max is not an anomaly. The MSPCA at Nevins Farm goes above and beyond to help the neediest animals in our communities each and every day - all without any state, federal or local funding. Please support my efforts for Spin for Animals and help us make better lives for all of the cats like Max out there!
