Spinning for Logie's MSPCA Buddies!
Friends, family, and friends of friends and family,
I'm spinning March 10th for Logie and animals at the MSCPA-- and although my goal is $250, every penny counts! Thank you in advance for your time, pennies, and love/support.
Why hike up to northern MA to spin for 2 hours on a Saturday? Simply put, Logan.
My co-parenting-partner-in-crime and I adopted Logan (Logie, Beans) on January 10, 2012 from the Nevin's Farm MSPCA as a companion for our very-energetic, Boxerhound, Kaiah. It took all of three weeks with him in our lives to realize he was actually the laziest, cuddliest, non-energetic lovebug that ever could be-- and although not the best exercise-companion, he is the best life-companion I could ever imagine. If anyone asks about him, I say he's one of the best dogs I've ever known and best life decisions I've ever made-- and that'll never stop being true. He may have only 3-legs and an unknown past, but he still loves life a thousand times harder than it loved him.
Logie's constant state of goofy, combined with his love-bug ways and lack of literally any aggression, had me generally curious about bully breed dogs and the "Pitbull" stereotype; so I started reading and educating myself, wanting to help these beautiful dogs, like Logie, any way I could. We started fostering Pitbull/Bully breed dogs, created an IG handle (@pitbullylife) and started proactively paying his love forward. We genuinely feel so lucky to have this amazing dog in our lives-- a dog who sat at a shelter, bypassed by many, most likely because of this stereotype and assumptions.
Logie was surrendered to MSPCA Boston, where he underwent surgery to remove one of his legs, was later transported to MSPCA Nevin's Farm after sitting at MSPCA Boston with little interest. We saw him on Petfinders and went to meet him with papers in hand that cold, snowy January day, and haven't looked back once. He is one of our "kids," like the many dogs sitting behind these caged walls, he was/is so deserving of being a beloved member of a family.
I hope you'll help me raise money for an wonderful organization I so passionately believe in and who has given me more love than I could imagine....Logie. Many are still waiting there, with hope & love in their hearts. <3
Pay it forward,
Julie
