If you've ever had a pet, then you know what an enormous impact they have on your life. Pets teach us responsibility, how to care for others, and most importantly unconditional love. Growing up all of my pets were rescued (except for a few fish and hamsters). My dogs were my best friends and constant companions and my cats were playful acrobats that loved to cuddle. As a parent, pets play an important part of our family and I am happy to provide my children with the wonders and responsibilities of sharing our home with two cats adopted from shelters.
I joined MSPCA-Angell's Run Fur Fun group with the intention of having a bigger goal than race times, t-shirts and bagels. I wasn't running at the time, but knew if I could make a positive impact on the lives of others then I would definitely start. It's been slow and sometimes painful to run, but I keep at it mainly because I want to help animals have a better life and support the amazing and dedicated staff of the MSPCA.
The lives and treatment of animals isn't only about the animals themselves. It's a reflection of our community and our compassion for others.
This year I am running the Boston Athletic Association's Distance Medley Series. Three races, 22+ miles, and lots of slobbery kisses.
Please help me reach my goal of raising $2,200 for the MSPCA-Angell. That's $100 per mile in case you are wondering :) Ok, let's do this!
Next Race 10k
There was so much excitement and pride in the air at the BAA 5k that kicked off Marathon weekend. I am really proud I got to take part of that race and so grateful to the donors who helped me raise 75 dollars for the MSPCA. Tomorrow I start training for the 10k which will be June 22.
Hope to see you there!
