I haven't been able to foster the past few years but this is still a cause that is near and dear to me. I hope to get back to fostering some day but until then, this is something that I can do.
For those that I have only known for the past few years; for many years, Joe and I had participated in the MSPCA fostering program to help horses in need of more 1:1 attention. Some just needed a consistent person to rebuild trust and confidence, some just needed to be brought back into work under saddle after injuries and some needed strait out training.
Of the 9 horses I have had in my care, Joe and I were able to successfully pass along 6 of them to their permanent homes with one of those homes being ours!. As much as I love Gracie, my greatest achievement was Libby who made use of every bit of training and riding skills that I had to offer. She was able to be adopted by a fantastic family that was able to continue her training and give Libby the life that every horse should have. We see her at every beach ride and I look forward to seeing her again this year.
Thank you for giving me a few moments of your time to read this and even if you are unable to donate to this organization, I hope you will keep the MSPCA in your minds should you be in a position to adopt or foster any kind of animal. The Nevins Farm has a large variety of animals that need homes.
