Help Support Small Animals at MSPCA Nevins Farm
This year I will be fundraising for the Fast & Furriest 5k in honor of Small Animals but especially hamsters! This will be the 4th year for Fast & Furriest and the event was held on Sunday 5/19 which 1 week away!!!! This year I'm on Team Go Ham for Hammies! This is the biggest fundraiser for the shelter for this year. Please considering to donate to help animals in need.
Pictured above is Legolas. Who I adopted from the shelter on January 12th. When he came into the shelter he had a badly injured leg that required immediate care from our veterinarian and medical staff. It was determined that the only way to really help him was to amputate his leg. So now he is a three legged hamster. I fostered him for a week then I adopted him. He did really great a few days of pain medication and a couple weeks of cage rest. His fur has even grown back almost all the way from where it was shaved. He is just like any other 6 month old little hamster. He loves to run on his saucer and spend time in his ball.
Over the course of a year 6,000 animals come thru the shelter. The types of small animals that the shelter has are Hamsters, Mice, Rats, Ferrets, Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Chinchilla's and all types of birds. Along with all of those small animals the shelter also has cats, dogs & farm animals.
All of the animals that come thru the shelters doors receive medical care. They are all examined by staff on intake and then receive further medical care by our vets. All of our rabbits are spayed/neutered before going home.
Please considering donating even if its just a few dollar. We operate with no state or federal funding whatsoever. The generosity of folks like you are the reason we are able to keep the shelter going.
Thank you in advance from the animals and myself.
Please support me in the Fast and Furriest!
