Help Support Senior Animals at MSPCA Nevins Farm
This year I will be fundraising for the Fast & Furriest 5k in honor of Senior Animals. This will be the 3rd year for Fast & Furriest and the event will be on Sunday 5/20! This is the biggest fundraiser for the shelter for this year. Please considering to donate to help animals in need.
Over the course of a year 6,000 animals come thru the shelter. Some of the animals who come into the shelter are a little bit older. These animals are considered senior animals even though they are older they are still looking for a loving home.
All of the animals that come thru the shelters doors receive medical care. Before they are adopted they are given rabies and distemper shots, spayed & neutered. Cats & Dogs that are ages 9 and older also receive an geriatric exam that way we can properly treat them and give their adopters the medical information they will need to keep them happy and healthy.
Medical Care can also be things like dental cleaning or surgery, ultra sounds, tests and treatment for skin issues, bladder stones or blockages.
Here are some examples of senior animals:
*Lilly(who is pictured) is a 10 year old Black & White Cat. She has a geratric exam she was found to have hyperthyroid problem which she is currently being treated. She will receive a dental cleaning once she is more medically stable. Lilly is a sweet and friendly girl especially when she is feeling comfortable. She wants to be the only animal in the home so she can have all the attention.
*Jawsie is a 11 year old Grey & White Cat. She is a lovebug who loves to give and receive attention. Jawsie also loves to purr. She has had a geratric exam and would like to be the only animal in the home.
*Fryer is a 8 yrs old Agouti Netherlnd Dwarf/Mix Rabbit. She is friendly, good with kids, and does okay with being handled. She is mostly litter box trained and can be a little skittish.
*Chloe is a 12 year old Tan & Black Pug/Beagle Dog. She is a sweet & pretty mellow girl who loves her daily walks. She can be a little shy at first. She isn't comfortable around all dogs. She will have a geriatric exam and medical treatment if needed. She will need help with housebreaking. "Has Been Adopted"
*Marissa is a 8 year old Agouti Netherlnd Dwarf/Mix Rabbit. She is friendly, good with kids, and does okay with being handled. She will need help with litter box training. "Has Been Adopted"
*Sydney is a 9 year old Pit Bull Dog. He was came into the shelter underweight. He received a geriatric exam and currently has no medical issues. He is an active guy for his age, he can be playful for other dogs. He could also live with a dog savy cat and older children. "Has Been Adopted"
*Fifi is a 10 year old Dilute Calico Cat she came into the shelter a stray cat. She is very sweet once she feels comfortable. She has received a dental, geriatric exam and has been looked at by our vets she has a heart murmur. "Has Been Adopted"
*Max is a 9 year old German Shepard Dog. He came into the shelter with pretty bad skin and ear issues. He has had a geriactric exam and treatment for his skin & ears. He is a pretty friendly guy who loves people. "Has Been Adopted"
*Elivira is a 8 year old Brown & White Dutch Rabbit. She is looking for a quiet home, she is on a special diet and is looking for a family who understands that she isn't used to being handled very much. "Has Been Adopted"
