Running for Seniors at the MSPCA
Super Seniors Seeking Someone!
The MSPCA at Nevins Farm cares for approximately 2,000 dogs each year who come to us looking for a chance at a new life. Some dogs are young, active dogs in need of training to begin a new life, but we also see lots of senior dogs who want a second chance to love and be loved.
Our first adopted dog was a senior beagle named, Abby. We used to pretend she was younger than she really was because she was so special. She helped with foster kittens and was generally a love to all. Her favorite pastimes were naps, food and snuggling with people.
She was only with us for 4 and a 1/2 years, but her impact on our family was forever. We would wish her back into our lives again and again. Some folks worry that getting attached to a senior dog will be too hard. I say, it is well worth it.
My goal is to raise $2,000 for the MSPCA to help other senior dogs who come to us just like Abby. The Fast & Furriest event is an incredible opportunity for me to express my gratitude for the work that happens at MSPCA's Nevins Farm ensuring animals and people have better lives. Adoption services, community spay/neuter programs and training and behavior services in addition to our hospitals are just a few ways the staff and volunteers make the lives of animals in the community better every day.
Will you help? Please give what you can!
