MSPCA-Angell West is a fast-paced, 24 hour emergency and specialty veterinary hospital. We are located conveniently off Route 128/95 at 293 Second Avenue in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Our mission and value system are based upon kindness and care for all animals. Specifically, we focus on positivity, integrity, excellence, service, collaboration, and compassion. We take pride in our organization by conducting all aspects of our business with these values in mind.

We are seeking motivated volunteers with an interest in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. By volunteering at our facility, you will be exposed to the operations of an emergency hospital. In addition to gaining exposure regarding how our hospital operates, you will be tasked with cleaning and stocking the emergency room and the exam areas. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced emergency veterinary technicians and doctors. The opportunities to observe and assist in the care of stable patients, as well as critically ill patients, will be plentiful. This is a highly physical position, and the ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time is necessary. Being able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds is a requirement. This is a very different volunteer opportunity than the volunteer opportunities offered at our various shelter locations.
