Looking for a companion that is as sweet as her namesake? Look no further than Cookie! When she’s feeling affectionate, she will lean in for chin scratches and head butts! She is a great communicator, and will let you know when she’s looking for some independent time. We don’t know too much about her history, but she could potentially live with another well-matched cat or dog, with a solid management plan.
If you think this cat could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed.
Preparing your home for your cat ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a cat that’s a good match! Have you ever dreamt of having your very own house hippo? Well dream no further! Chencho is the chunkiest house hippo on the block and is ready to dazzle you with his ample good looks and charm. This large couch potato would make a great companion in a variety of households as long as there are plenty of scritches available for him! He is not a fan of sharing his favorite things, so he would do best in a home without young children. He might be able to live with another dog with plently of management. Chencho seems to have some allergies so it will be important to have a close relationship with a veterinarian to keep him feeling his best. Regardless, he promises to wiggle his way into your heart in no time!
If you think you are a good fit and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs.
*Chencho is currently in a foster home so would require a second visit to meet him in person*

Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Buggsy is a cute and flashy paint mare who would make an adorable addition to your barn! We are looking for a companion-only home for Buggsy along with her best gal pal Muffin.
Buggsy has settled into our program at Nevins really nicely and is easy to halter in her stall, lead to her paddock, and catch for turn in. She is an easy keeper (as most ponies are) and seems quite hardy and healthy! We don’t have a full picture of her history, but as far as we know she came from an auction in Oklahoma and hasn’t done much ridden work in her life. She would be best suited to just hang out and be your best friend from the ground!
Buggsy is patient for vet care and enjoys being groomed and fussed over. She seems to really like her cozy stall this winter, but could likely handle living out 24/7 with adequate shelter and blanketing in bad weather.

So, if you`re ready to add a touch of sweetness to your life, come meet Candy and Cherry Bomb today!
Say hello to Karma! She is a tranport cat from out of state, so we don’t know too much about her past. The original shelter she came from said that sweet Karma can be very affectionate once she gets to know you. She enjoys a window sill to lay on especially if it’s in a sunny spot.

Gerri & Roman are a bonded pair of ferrets! We do not have a history of what they are like in a home, so we recommend adopters are prepared for a slow, steady intro to the home & any people in it.
Ferrets are highly active and incredibly goofy animals. Much like a young child, ferrets can get themselves into a lot of trouble! As such the home needs to be ferret-proofed, they even fit through spaces larger than the diameter of a quarter! Although ferrets can get into lots of mischief they can be incredibly fun and entertaining companions. Ferrets are carnivores and must receive a high-protein diet.
We recommend a large solid floored, multi-level cage similar to those made for ferrets or chinchillas. The cage should include houses or other structures for the ferret to hide in. Ferrets can be litterbox trained and we highly recommend it as they can be quite messy.
The needs of each ferret are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the ferret you are interested in, please let us know in your inquiry! We are happy to provide guidance and advice.

Meet Scotty, the embodiment of joy and exuberance packaged in a furry bundle! Dont let the age fool you! With his boundless energy and an infectious enthusiasm for life, Scotty is a playful companion ready to turn any moment into an adventure. His zest for life is evident in every wag of his tail and bounce in his step.
While Scotty may still have some rough edges in the manners department, his eagerness to learn and please shines through. He’s a diligent student, always eager to soak up new lessons and skills. With a bit of guidance and consistency, he’s sure to blossom into a well-mannered canine companion.
Scotty’s love knows no bounds, extending not only to his cherished humans but also to his canine pals. He thrives in the company of others, whether it’s engaging in a spirited game of fetch or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll in the park. Scotty’s heart is as big as his personality, and he’s ready to bring endless joy and laughter to his new home.
Finches have a wonderful voice, and can be a joy to watch, but tend not to be a “hands on” bird. Native to Australia, finches can live up to 10 years with proper nutrition and care. We recommend that finches live in pairs or groups whenever possible.
We recommend a cage that is at least 27”x24” (Width x depth) with a maximum of ½” bar spacing. Cages should include lots of perches, trays for food/water and lots of toys for enrichment. As a result of finches being a “hands off” bird they tend to spend much of their lives inside their cage, so we heavily recommend investing in a very spacious cage with lots of enrichment.
The needs of each finch are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the finch you are interested in, please give us a call! We are happy to provide guidance and advice.
