Introducing Corn, a gentle 3-year-old pup with a heart as big as her timid demeanor. Despite her initial shyness, Corn is a devoted companion who thrives in the company of other dogs. She finds comfort and confidence in their presence, often wagging her tail with excitement during playtime. With patience and love, Corn blossoms into a loyal friend, eager to share her affection with a caring family who understands her need for gentle reassurance. If you’re ready to open your heart to a timid yet loving soul, Corn is waiting to become your steadfast canine companion.
Dane is an adorable 3 year old Nigerian Dwarf wether. He is very shy, so would do best in a home with an experienced adopter who can handle him and help him warm up to people over time. He deserves a loving home where he can relax and learn that humans are his friends!
Goats are herd animals and need the company of other goats to be healthy and happy. We are looking for adopters who can take at least a pair of goats or have an existing herd at home that they’d like to expand. Interested adopters should have housing for their goats to include proper shelter from the elements and fencing to contain these notorious escape artists. As they say – if it can’t hold water, it can’t hold a goat!
All goats are up to date on their medical needs, but will need routine maintenance moving forward for things like hoof trims and yearly vaccines.
Interested in adding a hilarious and sweet group of goats to your home? Fill out an adoption form by clicking the “Inquire” button and a staff member will reach out to discuss!
Adoption fee: $250*
*Adoption fees are subject to change based on current specials and may increase with training.
Meet Albert aka Albie! He and his old pal Walter are the cutest little old ponies we’ve ever met.
Albert leads well and has settled nicely into his routine of turning out for the day and coming in to our cozy barn for the evening. He and Walter share a paddock, a stall, and their meals – they are best buds! Albie’s teeth are quite worn, so he requires a soaked diet, but he is at a healthy weight and seems to be a relatively easy keeper. He does require a little extra medical maintenance due to his advanced age, but nothing out of the ordinary for a 25+ year old distinguished gentleman. Albert is patient for vet and farrier care.
These two little pony geldings would love a quiet spot to retire together. They are both very friendly, curious, and gentle. And they love a good grooming session! We haven’t turned them out with any other horses given their age and specific diet, but they could easily share a fenceline with friends. If you have experience with older ponies, these two guys could be a great match for you!
Meet Max, the Lone Star State’s most enthusiastic foodie! This Texas tornado of energy is ready to spice up your life with his zest for treats and tail-wagging adventures.
Max’s mysterious past only adds to his charm – who knows what wild tales he has from the Lone Star State? But one thing’s for sure: this pup’s appetite for life is as big as the Texas sky. He loves food sooo much that he really prefers not to share so would do best in a home with older children only.
So, if you’re craving a sidekick who’s part food enthusiast, part dynamo, then Max is your mutt! Stop by the shelter during open hours to talk with our adoption staff about him today!
We’d like to introduce a very special cat named Ninja. He is a 3 year old, and has a progressive case of FeLV – or Feline Leukemia Virus – which will shorten his lifespan, and we are hoping to find him a loving indoor-only home where he can live out his life. Despite his diagnosis, he can be social and affectionate with those he knows, once he is comfortable in his new space. Ninja would need to be the only cat in the household, or have feline friends that also have FeLV. Interested adopters should click the inquire button below to learn more and shelter staff will provide additional counseling on FeLV and answer any questions at the time of adoption.
More info on FeLV can be found here: https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951934
Meet Babe! This lovable pig is ready to find his special home. Babe loves spending time laying around his pen, laying in his wallow on hot days, or munching on snacks. Given his lazier personality, Babe needs to have his diet carefully monitored. He takes a while to warm up to new people but once he does, he likes to spend time with his people. Babe would love to find a home where he can take his time settling in and not rushing into new situations. His new home would also help him continue his weight loss journey so he can live a healthy life. If you think Babe would be a good fit for your family, submit an adoption inquiry!

Katara enjoys munching on her morning greens and vegetables and would love a home where she can continue to get her morning salads hand delivered! Spirit cats are very shy with people, and live in your home but are rarely seen – hence their name. They are cats who coexist in your home, and sometimes may grant you the opportunity to touch them – or they may not. Despite being shy with people, spirit cats are usually great with other cats! They are used to living with many cats, and can make excellent companions for cats in your home. It’s not uncommon for a spirit cat to get used to one or two people over time, and those people will be allowed to touch them and they may even choose to hang out near you or sleep on your bed at night. They are a great choice for people with a quiet household, who want to make a difference for an individual cat. Patience and understanding are the best tools when welcoming a spirit cat into your home. It’s important to know that spirit cats won’t magically turn into a normal acting cat – what you see is what you get for a long time, maybe always.
They are a fine choice for situations where you don’t have a lot of time to devote to a pet as they don’t require a lot of attention from humans. They are not a good choice for a busy home, including those with small children.
Budgerigars, the most common parakeet we see, are native to Australia where they live in massive flocks in the grasslands. Parakeets tend to be docile, gentle, can be easy to tame and can even talk! Despite their small size, these birds can have large vocabularies and can make a wonderful training companion. We recommend that parakeets live in pairs or groups whenever possible. Parakeets can live up to 7-15 years with proper nutrition and care, and can be a loyal companion.
We recommend a cage that is at least 27”x24” (Width x depth) with a maximum of ½” bar spacing. Cages should include lots of perches, trays for food/water and lots of toys for enrichment. Nests can be provided but should be removed if any females begin to lay eggs. We do not recommend a seed only diet as it can lead to malnutrition and other potential issues, please consult your vet for specific diet recommendations.
The needs of each parakeet are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the parakeet you are interested in, please let us know in your inquiry! We are happy to provide guidance and advice.

Say Hey to Regina George! Regina is a sassy and playful Lionhead Rabbit who is ready for her new home! Regina George would do best with an experienced bunny owner, as she has a bit of spicyness to her.
We recommend providing a safe indoor enclosure that allows a rabbit to stretch their legs and move around. The needs of each rabbit are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the rabbit you are interested in, please let us know in your inquiry! We are happy to provide guidance and advice
Introducing Her Majesty, Princess Diana! This elegant feline is seeking a kingdom to call her own. With her dignified presence and royal grace, Princess Diana rules her domain with a gentle paw. She can be sweet and affectionate when she desires, gracing her loyal subjects with purrs and cuddles. However, like any true monarch, she values space and will let you know when she needs her royal privacy. She’d do best in a home with adults and older kids who can read her body language and give her space when she needs it. If you’re ready to welcome a majestic companion into your castle, Princess Diana awaits to reign over your heart with regal charm and undeniable grace.

Vik is a very social young rat, who enoys hanging out on shoulders!
Rats are nocturnal, highly social and extremely intelligent animals! Due to the highly social nature of rats we prefer to match them with homes with existing rats, or to adopters looking to take home two or more rats. Rats can be food driven (and great foragers!) making them excellent animals to train. We always recommend the use of positive reinforcement training with your animals, and are happy to provide more information on this topic.
We recommend providing a safe indoor enclosure that allows the rat plenty of space to exercise. The minimum cage size should be 2’x2.5’x2’, with good ventilation (no glass enclosures) and must have a solid base. Preferably the shelter includes multiple levels, with appropriate use of linens or paper bedding and lots of rat appropriate toys. Rats should never be housed with other animals, each species should always have its own housing.
The needs of each rat are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the rat you are interested in, please let us know in your inquiry! We are happy to provide guidance and advice.

Lucky’s days as the neighborhood tomcat might be over, but he hopes his days as your feline friend are just beginning! Lucky’s life up until now has been spent living outdoors in an area with many cats. While he’s been known to mingle with many of the female felines, he’s ready to put his bachelor life behind him. Lucky’s neighborhood caretakers describe him as sweet, lovable boy who wants plenty of snacks and pets. While the other cats in his colony prefer to live a life separate from humans, Lucky’s caretakers are pretty sure he’d like a human family to cozy up with.
In the shelter, Lucky’s been slow to open up as it’s his first time living indoors! After he has a chance to get to know you and get more comfortable, he’ll lean into pets and purr – especially if you have tasty treats! Lucky could succeed as an indoor/outdoor house cat, or might be a great fit if you’re looking for a friendly barn cat! He seems to enjoy other felines, too, so would be happy to have kitty roommates.
Meet Artie! This handsome fella came to us from a home without much history known. He can take a little time to warm up and would likely do best in a quieter home. He lived with many other cats and would likely do well living with other cats!

Finches have a wonderful voice, and can be a joy to watch, but tend not to be a “hands on” bird. Native to Australia, finches can live up to 10 years with proper nutrition and care. We recommend that finches live in pairs or groups whenever possible.
We recommend a cage that is at least 27”x24” (Width x depth) with a maximum of ½” bar spacing. Cages should include lots of perches, trays for food/water and lots of toys for enrichment. As a result of finches being a “hands off” bird they tend to spend much of their lives inside their cage, so we heavily recommend investing in a very spacious cage with lots of enrichment.
The needs of each finch are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the finch you are interested in, please give us a call! We are happy to provide guidance and advice.

Meet 6 year old Benji! Benji is the full package- he`s big, strong, silly and smart! He is looking for a patient adopter who is excited about training using positive reinforcement to help him learn his best leash walking skills. Although Benji is able to navigate a world close to other dogs, he would likely thrive in a lower trafficked environment outside. Benji has the potential to have some calm, tolerant canine roommates or walking friends. Benji may be able to live with kids who are comfortable with a big strong dog! Benji does not have a history with cats, so any interested adopters should be committed to taking an introduction with a resident cat extremely slowly!
If Benji sounds like the dog for you, please visit our Methuen Adoption Center Tuesday-Sunday 12PM-4:30PM.
