Carlos is an adorable 1 year old Nigerian Dwarf wether. He is very shy, so would do best in a home with an experienced adopter who can handle him and help him warm up to people over time. He deserves a loving home where he can relax and learn that humans are his friends!
Goats are herd animals and need the company of other goats to be healthy and happy. We are looking for adopters who can take at least a pair of goats or have an existing herd at home that they’d like to expand. Interested adopters should have housing for their goats to include proper shelter from the elements and fencing to contain these notorious escape artists. As they say – if it can’t hold water, it can’t hold a goat!
All goats are up to date on their medical needs, but will need routine maintenance moving forward for things like hoof trims and yearly vaccines.
Interested in adding a hilarious and sweet group of goats to your home? Fill out an adoption form by clicking the “Inquire” button and a staff member will reach out to discuss!
We’d like to introduce a very special cat named Dolly. She is a 3 year old, and has a progressive case of FeLV – or Feline Leukemia Virus – which will shorten her lifespan, and we are hoping to find her a loving indoor-only home where she can live out her life. Despite her diagnosis, she can be social and affectionate with those she knows, once she is comfortable in her new space. Dolly would need to be the only cat in the household, or have feline friends that also have FeLV. Interested adopters should click the inquire button below to learn more and shelter staff will provide additional counseling on FeLV and answer any questions at the time of adoption.
More info on FeLV can be found here: https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951934

Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Seeking companionship? Your search might just end with Lucy. Lucy is an
old soul who is a big fan of fetch. While she might take a few minutes
to warm up, once she does youll see her sweetness shining through. Lucy
has had housetraining and will need to practice when she gets to her new
home. She would also benefit from some time to decompress and learn about
her new environment. Lucy is a very curious girl and she cannot wait to
investigate all of your shelves and counters! Lucy can live with calm dog
companions who are more interested in being friends than in high energy
play. Lucy is open to sharing a home with a feline friend who understands
doggy etiquette and can participate in a gradual introduction. Lucy would
do well in a home with kids who are attuned to her signals and can read her
body language. Adopters will also need to be comfortable supporting Lucy in
managing a medical issue – Lucy is still building her confidence with
being handled by the vet.
Want to meet Lucy? Visit the MSPCA at Nevins Farm in Methuen Tuesday-Sunday
12PM-4:30PM.
Introducing Daisy! As beautiful as her flowery name suggests, Daisy is also just as sensitive. She came to us from an overcrowded kennel situation in TX and we know very little about her history, but we do know that she has been sweet with the adoption staff here. With some patience and an adopter who can take a gentle approach to helping her settle in, we know she’ll blossom into the best pup she can be! Daisy is looking for a lower-traffic home. She could potentially live with older children who have some shy dog skills under their belt, potentially cats, or another well-matched dog.
If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs.

Meet young Ash. This is a happy go lucky guy with a lot of energy. He
loves to play and is getting good at walking on a leash. Oh, dont let that
adorable face fool you. This puppy will require a bit more training with
polite greetings and to use that puppy mouth appropriately. Luckily, Ash
loves his snacks and will train for cookies. This good boy is looking to
join a home with kids that will help with training. The best situation
would be if he could live with an older, patient dog that will teach him
the ropes and want to play with a silly puppy. We have no history of what
Ash thinks of cats, so a dog-savvy cat would be a possibility.
Does Ash sound like the boy for you? If so, please head to the Methuen
MSPCA location Tuesday-Sunday between the hours of 12PM-4:30PM!
Finches have a wonderful voice, and can be a joy to watch, but tend not to be a “hands on” bird. Native to Australia, finches can live up to 10 years with proper nutrition and care. We recommend that finches live in pairs or groups whenever possible.
We recommend a cage that is at least 27”x24” (Width x depth) with a maximum of ½” bar spacing. Cages should include lots of perches, trays for food/water and lots of toys for enrichment. As a result of finches being a “hands off” bird they tend to spend much of their lives inside their cage, so we heavily recommend investing in a very spacious cage with lots of enrichment.
The needs of each finch are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the finch you are interested in, please give us a call! We are happy to provide guidance and advice.
* If you think you are a good fit, stop by Tues-Sun from 1-4 during our open hours! For more information on our adoption process, please visit www.mspca.org/capeadoptionprocess .
