Winter is our low-riding, beefy pittie girl. This pretty pittie walks well
on a leash and has a good history living with children. She loves kids yet
she can get nervous meeting new adults, especially men. In her previous
life, Winter was not exposed to much outside of her home so the world can
be big and scary. Her new adopters will need to give her the time and
space to settle in and find her brave. Winter could live with a calm dog
friend. In fact, Winter is sometimes a little less scared when she has a
dog buddy by her side. And she says a big no thank you to living with
cats. Finally, Winter is house trained, although she might need a quick
refresher after living at the shelter. Do you want to meet Winter? Visit
the MSPCA at Nevins Farm in Methuen Tuesday-Sunday 12PM-3PM.
Darren is a young boar who still has a lot to learn about the world. Humans are still a little scary for him so he is looking for a patient adopter who will let him settle in at his own pace and not put pressure on him to interact right away. Darren was housed with his brother Joe until they started bickering in the shelter. They will require a patient adopter with a good bonding plan and a spacious enclosure to help restore their brotherly bond after the shelter. If Darren does not go home with Joe, he is looking for a very submissive male to live with who won’t mind when he pushes them around.

Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in – and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
Eloise is a very sweet 4 year old Nigerian Dwarf doe. She is a bit shy, but will surely warm up to people with time, patience, and snacks!
Goats are herd animals and need the company of other goats to be healthy and happy. We are looking for adopters who can take at least a pair of goats or have an existing herd at home that they’d like to expand. Interested adopters should have housing for their goats to include proper shelter from the elements and fencing to contain these notorious escape artists. As they say – if it can’t hold water, it can’t hold a goat!
All goats are up to date on their medical needs, but will need routine maintenance moving forward for things like hoof trims and yearly vaccines.
Interested in adding a hilarious and sweet group of goats to your home? Fill out an adoption form by clicking the “Inquire” button and a staff member will reach out to discuss!
Meet Rosco, the seasoned veteran of sniffing out good times and enjoying leisurely strolls like a true connoisseur! This Texas senior may have a few miles on his paws, but let me tell ya, he’s still got plenty of pep in his step and a whole lot of love to give.
Now, Rosco’s past is shrouded in mystery, like a cowboy legend whispered around a campfire. But one thing’s for sure: this ol’ boy knows how to enjoy a good stroll under the Texas sun. With him by your side, you’ll be sauntering down the streets like you own the whole darn town!
Sure, Rosco may take his time warming up to you, but trust me, it’s worth the wait! He’s got a heart as big as the Lone Star State itself and enough charm to melt even the toughest cowboy’s heart.
So, if you’re looking for a faithful companion to join you on your Texas-sized adventures, swing on by to speak with our adoption staff about Rosco! He’s the sweetest old timer this side of the Rio Grande, just waiting for patient adopters to show him the ropes.
Meadow is ready to find a new home of her own! She came from an out of state transport, so we are still getting to know her. Meet Toph! This sweet girl is looking for her forever home with sister Azula! Toph would love a home where she can have all the greens her heart desires! Meet Zeus! A perpetual, fast-moving wiggle butt, watch his enthusiam adorably take over when he says “hello”! He’s a high energy guy and he’s got the muscles to prove it, but in addition to exercise, he will also need some help learning how to settle – he may not be the “Netflix and chill” type at home to begin with. Zeus has previously lived with a cat, but due to his size and strength introductions should be slow.

Budgerigars, the most common parakeet we see, are native to Australia where they live in massive flocks in the grasslands. Parakeets tend to be docile, gentle, can be easy to tame and can even talk! Despite their small size, these birds can have large vocabularies and can make a wonderful training companion. We recommend that parakeets live in pairs or groups whenever possible. Parakeets can live up to 7-15 years with proper nutrition and care, and can be a loyal companion.
We recommend a cage that is at least 27”x24” (Width x depth) with a maximum of ½” bar spacing. Cages should include lots of perches, trays for food/water and lots of toys for enrichment. Nests can be provided but should be removed if any females begin to lay eggs. We do not recommend a seed only diet as it can lead to malnutrition and other potential issues, please consult your vet for specific diet recommendations.
The needs of each parakeet are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the parakeet you are interested in, please let us know in your inquiry! We are happy to provide guidance and advice.

Tulip is a sweet and shy lady who is looking for a new home of her own! Tulip came to us with a group of dogs that we received from an overcrowded kennel environment in the Texas. We don’t know too much about her history, but we know she is already making progress and coming out of her shell in New England. Tulip has been through a lot of transitions in a short period of time and she is looking for a patient family who can help show her the ropes and adjust to a home environment at her own pace. She can be nervous in new situations, but she is already getting more comfortable and asking for snuggles with some of her friends. Tulip has been around other dogs and might do well with another social dog to help build her confidence. She might be okay with older kids who can read her body language and respect her boundaries!

Are you looking for a pretty hound girl? One who is sweet natured and
friendly? Then come see Daisy. This good girl is probably okay to live
with kids, dogs, cats and chickens! How about that! Like most big hounds,
this girl can have a big voice when she wants to. Daisy has not had much
practice walking on a leash. However, she loves nothing better than a long
sniffy walk. That and her love of a good treat should help with all her
training. Daisy has had a rough go of it and is looking for a family of
her own. Shell need an adopter who will give her time and patience to
settle and to learn all the new rules. Does Daisy sound like the dog for
you? Visit her at the MSPCA in Methuen Tuesday-Sunday 12PM-4:30PM.
