Meet Walter! He and his old pal Albert are the cutest little old ponies we’ve ever met.
Walter leads well and has settled nicely into his routine of turning out for the day and coming in to our cozy barn for the evening. He and Albert share a paddock, a stall, and their meals – they are best buds! Walter’s teeth are quite worn, so he requires a soaked diet, but he is at a healthy weight and seems to be a relatively easy keeper. He does require a little extra medical maintenance due to his advanced age, but nothing out of the ordinary for a 25+ year old distinguished gentleman. Walter is patient for vet care, but has a hard time standing for the farrier so will need some extra support on that front.
These two little pony geldings would love a quiet spot to retire together. They are both very friendly, curious, and gentle. And they love a good grooming session! We haven’t turned them out with any other horses given their age and specific diet, but they could easily share a fenceline with friends. If you have experience with older ponies, these two guys could be a great match for you!
Meet Pickle! Some pickles are sour, some are salty… but this one is just SWEET! This rat is surely to dazzle you with her charms. She is a multi-talented young lady with a background in home decor. She loves to shred paper and decorate her spaces with her artistic abilities. She also enjoys a medley of pillowcases and hand towels to lounge in within her enclosure. She is often found relaxing in one of her hammocks, but is quick to come out and greet you like the good hostess that she is. Having all of these skills, Pickle is dreaming for a longterm home to call her own. Could it be with you? Miss Pickle has a history of loving having roommates to spend her time with– so she could potentially go home with some other rats to keep her company! Give Pickle a chance and she will absolutely steal your heart, and make your house a home!

Gerri & Roman are a bonded pair of ferrets! We do not have a history of what they are like in a home, so we recommend adopters are prepared for a slow, steady intro to the home & any people in it.
Ferrets are highly active and incredibly goofy animals. Much like a young child, ferrets can get themselves into a lot of trouble! As such the home needs to be ferret-proofed, they even fit through spaces larger than the diameter of a quarter! Although ferrets can get into lots of mischief they can be incredibly fun and entertaining companions. Ferrets are carnivores and must receive a high-protein diet.
We recommend a large solid floored, multi-level cage similar to those made for ferrets or chinchillas. The cage should include houses or other structures for the ferret to hide in. Ferrets can be litterbox trained and we highly recommend it as they can be quite messy.
The needs of each ferret are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the ferret you are interested in, please let us know in your inquiry! We are happy to provide guidance and advice.

Say Hey to Regina George! Regina is a sassy and playful Lionhead Rabbit who is ready for her new home! Regina George would do best with an experienced bunny owner, as she has a bit of spicyness to her.
We recommend providing a safe indoor enclosure that allows a rabbit to stretch their legs and move around. The needs of each rabbit are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the rabbit you are interested in, please let us know in your inquiry! We are happy to provide guidance and advice
Meet 6 year old Benji! Benji is the full package- he`s big, strong, silly and smart! He is looking for a patient adopter who is excited about training using positive reinforcement to help him learn his best leash walking skills. Although Benji is able to navigate a world close to other dogs, he would likely thrive in a lower trafficked environment outside. Benji has the potential to have some calm, tolerant canine roommates or walking friends. Benji may be able to live with kids who are comfortable with a big strong dog! Benji does not have a history with cats, so any interested adopters should be committed to taking an introduction with a resident cat extremely slowly!
If Benji sounds like the dog for you, please visit our Methuen Adoption Center Tuesday-Sunday 12PM-3PM.

Dane is an adorable 3 year old Nigerian Dwarf wether. He is very shy, so would do best in a home with an experienced adopter who can handle him and help him warm up to people over time. He deserves a loving home where he can relax and learn that humans are his friends!
Goats are herd animals and need the company of other goats to be healthy and happy. We are looking for adopters who can take at least a pair of goats or have an existing herd at home that they’d like to expand. Interested adopters should have housing for their goats to include proper shelter from the elements and fencing to contain these notorious escape artists. As they say – if it can’t hold water, it can’t hold a goat!
All goats are up to date on their medical needs, but will need routine maintenance moving forward for things like hoof trims and yearly vaccines.
Interested in adding a hilarious and sweet group of goats to your home? Fill out an adoption form by clicking the “Inquire” button and a staff member will reach out to discuss!

More about Destiny:
I am a sweet, easy-going mature lady, and will make a mellow, low-key companion for my adopter.
We have no history of what I might be like living in a home, but staff says I have been lovely since I have been here at the shelter.
I will need a slow introduction to my new home, litter box, and any existing pets while I settle in and become comfortable in my new surroundings. I adjusted fairly quickly here at the shelter, but my adopter should take it slowly with me and give me time to settle in at my own pace.
I am a senior lady and potential adopters will be given access to my medical records.
The shelter is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon – 3:00pm, with no appointment needed to meet available cats.
Compatibility: Cats: Possibly, no history Dogs: Possibly, no history Kids: Possibly, no history: cat-savvy, mellow
