Mr. Smee has quickly won over the hearts of our staff and volunteers and is currently spending quality time in a quiet office – his own personal “penthouse suite.” Mr. Smee loves affection on his own terms and will “check in” throughout the day for pets and his favorite snack, Temptations treats! His history in a home mentions that he loved to sunbathe on a porch and is now looking for the next sunny spot to spend the rest of his days!
We know that he previously lived and enjoyed the company of another cat, but he could be either your one-and-only or the “wise grandpa” to a calm cat at home. He would likely prefer to have his people home more often than not and who are patient with him as he transitions into a new environment.
As a senior, he has experienced some typical medical challenges that comes with being 16 years young. Our veterinary team discovered that he has early chronic kidney disease and anemia – however you wouldn’t be able to tell that based on his outgoing behavior! Mr. Smee would thrive with an adopter who is willing to develop a close relationship with their veterinarian to manage his medical needs. Our staff will be happy to review and disclose all Mr. Smee’s history with you and answer any questions you may have.
So, if you’re ready to open your heart and home to a senior cat who’s overflowing with love, Mr. Smee is waiting to meet you! Come fall in love with this charming guy who is waiting for a quiet home and a sunny window to call his own.

Meet Albert aka Albie! He and his old pal Walter are the cutest little old ponies we’ve ever met.
Albert leads well and has settled nicely into his routine of turning out for the day and coming in to our cozy barn for the evening. He and Walter share a paddock, a stall, and their meals – they are best buds! Albie’s teeth are quite worn, so he requires a soaked diet, but he is at a healthy weight and seems to be a relatively easy keeper. He does require a little extra medical maintenance due to his advanced age, but nothing out of the ordinary for a 25+ year old distinguished gentleman. Albert is patient for vet and farrier care.
These two little pony geldings would love a quiet spot to retire together. They are both very friendly, curious, and gentle. And they love a good grooming session! We haven’t turned them out with any other horses given their age and specific diet, but they could easily share a fenceline with friends. If you have experience with older ponies, these two guys could be a great match for you!
We have several adorable Welsh Harlequin female ducks available for adoption! Ducks are very social animals, so we’d love to send these birds home in pairs at least (and even better if you already have a flock for them to join)! They have beautiful coloring on their feathers and love to splash in their pool!

Steel is a sweet and easygoing little chihuahua ready to find a home of his own! We don’t know much about his history, but we know he must have been very loved. Steel loves to go for walks and hang out with his friends. He would likely do okay with another low key dog friend and older kids who can respect his boundaries. If you are looking for the cutest pint size companion Steel might be the guy for you!

This cat is part of our Working Cat Program! This program is for cats that are not well suited for an indoor-only type lifestyle but would thrive in environments with more space, a job, and/or less pressure from humans and other pets. Interested adopters must have a safe, secure structure or barn for a working cat and be able to provide adequate time for acclimation.
If you are interested, please stop in during our open hours.

Meet our newest dog looking for a home filled with love and patience. Rescued from a commercial breeding facility, this little one has endured a tough start in life, lacking the care and socialization every dog needs to thrive. These guys have experienced a lot of change and stress, and are now seeking solace in the arms of a compassionate family. They require a gentle touch and plenty of time and pateince to rebuild trust and confidence.
Ideal adopters will cherish the quiet moments, providing a peaceful, low-traffic environment where our furry friend can feel safe and secure. If there are children in the home, they should be old enough to understand the importance of patience and space, allowing our canine companion the time they need to blossom into their best self. With understanding and commitment, this precious soul is ready to embark on a journey of healing and companionship, filling your home with boundless love and gratitude.
Meet Lunar! This cutie pie is just dying to meet you and win you over with his sweet personality. Just like his name suggestions, his personality is out of this world! He’s calm, cuddly, and wants to keep you company while lounging on some cozy bedding. While in shelter, he has been known to enjoy curling up on the coziest bedding he can get his paws on. While he’s a laid back couch potato, he still never turns down a chance to get some snuggles. Lunar is looking for a home to give him plenty of spots to snuggle and plenty of catnip! If you think he’s the right fit for you, come say hi to him at the Boston MSPCA adoption center.
