The circus is coming to town - you can help
Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus will be in Worcester Oct. 8-12 and in Boston Oct. 14-18. The outcome of the trial against them is still pending, but a public hearing for S.1870, the bill that would ban the use of the bullhook on traveling elephants, has been scheduled for Nov.16th at the State House. What would your pets do without you?
Massachusetts is one of only 12 states without a law allowing people to set up trusts to provide financially for their pets if they die or become incapacitated. H.1467 would change that, benefiting animals, their caretakers, and shelters that currently accept animals who lose their homes when their people can no longer care for them.

Mashpee residents will vote on a pit bull ban at their town meeting on October 19. Thankfully, the Board of Selectmen has already voted unanimously to oppose this misguided ordinance - hopefully the voters will agree.
